How to measure your package size:



<ol type="1"><li>First of all, you need to know the exact measurements of your package. If you have doubts about how to measure, please take a look at the picture below.</li></ol>



Every shipping service requires the Height, Length, and Width of your package to provide the most accurate quote. The length of a box is the long side of the box on the side of the longest flap. The height is the size from top to bottom. Finally, the width is measured by turning the box 90 degrees which is the side with the shorter flap.

<ol start="2"><li>Another criterion is to measure the weight of your package. If you want to measure volumetric weight, please take a look at the formula below. However, if you want to measure the regular weight of your package, please use the scale.</li></ol>



To know the volumetric weight in pounds, you need to multiply the Height, Length, and Width of your package and divide it by 166. You would probably ask “why 166?”.  Both UPS and FedEx use 166 as a dimensional factor for domestically shipped items but for internationally shipped items, you should use 139. If you prefer to calculate the volumetric weight in kilograms, you would need to multiply the Height, Length, and Width of your package and divide it by 6,000.

What are the weight and size limits for shipping using UPS?



If your package is bigger than the limits listed below, you will need to use UPS Freight services or UPS Worldwide Express FreightSM.



<ul><li>Packages can be up to 150 lbs.</li><li>Packages can be up to 165 inches in length and girth combined.</li><li>Packages can be up to 108 inches in length.</li><li>Packages with a large size-to-weight ratio require special pricing and dimensional weight calculations.</li></ul>



What factors affect the price of the shipment?



<ul><li>First of all, when you measure the Height, Length, or Width of your package and the size number is decimal, always make it round. For example, if the width of your package is 3.2, put 4 because shipping services don’t accept the decimals. Otherwise, you might be charged, because your package will be in another weight category.</li><li>Secondly, know the exact size and height of your package. Shipping services are going to charge more if the size is different from the one you put.</li><li>Finally, make sure you put the correct value of your package.
